The massive popularity of Soccer all over the world is very evident, and it has resulted in so many positives for the sport including the fact that it is branded as the most beautiful game in the world. A Soccer game pits two squads of ten plus a goalkeeper, and the mechanics of the sport is to move the official ball on a field, or the pitch in soccer terms, into the goal, which is a rectangular formation consisting of two poles and a crossbar. The catch is that players, except the goalkeeper, are not allowed to use their hands and arms when moving the ball.

The official time of a soccer game is ninety minutes split into two forty five minute halves, with each half adding stoppage time consisting of the combined time where play was stopped due to various reasons with the most common being injuries. The match would end even if the score is tied, unless the match calls for a winner and in that event the game heads to extra time and penalty shootouts to break the deadlock.

Though soccer is a global sport, there are specific countries that can be called powerhouses, and one of those countries is Spain. Grassroots development and a world class professional league, the La Liga, contributed greatly to the Spaniards having great skill as most experts would agree. Some of the world’s greatest players would come to Spain to play in this league, thus raising the level of competition to great heights and making it one of the best and most prestigious leagues available today.

Regardless of sport, they are also one of the most popular professional leagues in the world with clubs Real Madrid and Barcelona sporting club, or simply known as FC Barcelona, as their main draw. Together, their stadiums can hold a total of over 180,000 fans in one game.

Of course, there are still numerous leagues all over the world that can provide elite level of competition, and those include the Premier League in England and also the Serie A in Italy. Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool FC, Inter Milan and Juventus are some of the clubs that have cut their fangs in those two prestigious leagues. Other than those European countries, South America has also become a breeding ground for the game of soccer with excellent soccer nations such as Brazil and Argentina, home of some of the finest soccer players in the world including Kaka and Lionel Messi.
